The first Hot Springs Music Club program of the 2018-19 season will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hope Church, 1535 Shady Grove Road.

Included on the program is the Flute Quintet Toccata in G Major by Theodore Dubois, arranged by Trevor Wye. The players from the Hot Springs Flute Ensemble include Carlos Feller and Lynn Clardy on C flutes; Donna Toler on piccolo; Steve Bonner on alto flute; and Jackie Flowers on bass flute.

Vocal solos will also be performed by Jolene Williams, Tom Bolton and Robin Williams. The Music Club Ladies Ensemble, directed by Bolton, will sing three diverse pieces including Schubert's "An Die Musik," Rosephanye Powell's "Ascribe to the Lord," and the spiritual "Beautiful City" by Andre Thomas.

A highlight of the program will be an introduction to a new group of singers called The Threshold Choir of Hot Springs. The unique purpose of this group is to provide comfort, companionship, and care to people who are at a threshold, a news release said.

The Threshold Choir International gives singers opportunities to offer their voices and music in service to others. Threshold is an international movement first started in California, and has spread across the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The Theshold Choir of Hot Springs is the first group formed in Arkansas and under the musical direction of Kathie White. The group will work in connection with Arkansas Hospice but is also available by individual requests at ThresholdHSNP@gmail.com.

The program is free and open to the public.
