FAYETTEVILLE -- The Razorback baseball team is set to host its annual Fall World Series starting Monday at Baum Stadium.
This year's squad will be split up into Cardinal and White teams to play a best-of-five series over the course of a week.
Over the seven-day stretch, head coach Dave Van Horn and his staff of Wes Johnson, Nate Thompson and Taylor Smart will cap their 2018 fall season. Fall ball this year included an exhibition against Wichita State in Fayetteville, as well as a scheduled exhibition for Friday against the Little Rock Trojans at Gary Hogan Field. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m. the night before the Hogs host Ole Miss in a Southeastern Conference football game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Arkansas is coming off of a national runner-up finish to Oregon State in the program's ninth trip to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. All-American sophomores return to lead the 2019 team.
Martin and Kjerstad combined to hit for a .339 average, 27 home runs and 107 RBIs. They set Arkansas freshman records for hits, home runs and total bases.
The team also returns junior center fielder Dominic Fletcher, who hit .288 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs. He was named to the SEC All-Defense Team and was Arkansas' top hitter in Omaha, going -for-26 for a .346 average with two home runs and eight RBIs.
