Cutter Morning Star to hold groundbreaking

Cutter Morning Star School District will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new high school at 8:30 a.m. May 21 at the building site, 2801 Spring St. The public is welcome to attend.

Approval of Cutter Morning Star's millage increase in September 2017 resulted in an investment for a new high school and basketball arena. According to a news release, the district is eligible to receive assistance through the State of Arkansas' Academic Facilities Partnership Program.

The recently approved project will replace the district's current high school building, built in 1960, and the gymnasium, built in 1969. The new designs were orchestrated by Jackson Brown Palculict Architects, and construction will be by Hill & Cox Construction.

The new high school and basketball arena are set to open in December 2019.
