Kudos to academy

Dear editor:

I recently attended Citizens Police Academy. This class is taught by the Hot Springs Police Department and the Garland County Sheriff's Office. It gives you great insight into what these officers do each day to keep our community safe.

They brought in speakers for us on a variety of topics, such as domestic violence and sexual assault, Drug Task Force, K-9 demo, SWAT team demos, mounted patrol and much more. I would encourage anyone that wants to know more about our HSPD and GCSO to sign up for the next class.

Thank you Chief Jason Stachey, Sheriff Mike McCormick, Officer 1st Class Joey Williams, Cpl. Kirk Zaner and all the other officers and speakers that sacrificed their time to teach the classes. Thank you, also, for all you do to keep our community safe every day.
