Special Sunday service at Bismarck Pentecostal

BISMARCK -- Bismarck Pentecostal Church, 2159 Arlie Moore Road, Bismarck, will host a special service of music ministry with LaVerne and Edith Tripp from Gallatin, Tenn., at 10 a.m. Sunday.

LaVerne Tripp made his first public singing debut at the Piney Grove Camp Meeting in Chocowinity, NC, at the age of 2 1/2 and hasn't stopped. After singing solo and with several local groups, he joined the Blue Ridge Quartet. He now serves as an evangelist.

In 2001, CCMA presented LaVerne Tripp with the Living Legend Award. CCMA awarded him for his No. 1 song, "A Bible And A Bus Ticket Home," from the project, "We Will Rise Above It All."

St. Mark Baptist installs officers


St. Mark Baptist Church, 542 Crescent, will observe its annual Installation of Officers at 3 p.m. Sunday. The theme is "Putting on the Bridle and Controlled by the Holy Spirit." Guests will be Pastor Rodrick McCollum and First Baptist Church-Rockport. Everyone is welcome.
