LDS apostles visit

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from among 51 congregations throughout central and eastern Arkansas and western Tennessee were recently addressed by two apostles of the church in a broadcast service originating in Little Rock. Elders Jeffrey R. Holland and Dieter F. Uchtdorf belong to the Quorum of the Twelve, the church's second highest governing body. Holland explained that with the growth of the church at over 16 million members worldwide, it has become increasingly difficult for the 12 apostles to visit individual congregations. He pointed out that this areawide meeting was a solution to the challenge. Holland and Uchtdorf, front center, are flanked by leaders of the Little Rock, North Little Rock, Memphis North, Searcy and Memphis stakes, and leaders of the Arkansas Little Rock Mission and Coordinating Council and Elder Jorg Klebingat of the Seventy.
