Local students to represent Ouachita Baptist in 'Who's Who'

ARKADELPHIA -- Four local students will represent Ouachita Baptist University in the latest edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

The students were among 38 students chosen by OBU's faculty, staff and the 2018 senior class based on their academic performance, leadership in extracurricular activities, community service and potential for success.

The following local students will be included in Who's Who:

• Kori Bullard, 22, is a biology major from Pearcy. A graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, she is a member of Tri Beta biological honor society, Alpha Chi national college honor society and the Carl Goodson Honors Program. Bullard has also served as captain of the Ouachita women's basketball and volleyball teams. She has earned several recognitions as a student-athlete, including: OBU Female Scholar Athlete of the Year and Great American Conference (GAC) Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2016-17 and 2017-18. Bullard was selected as a member of the USA Division II National Volleyball team -- Brazil Tour 2017, the All-Ouachita Athletic Team and the All-Ouachita Academic Team. She has volunteered through the Humane Society of Clark County and Peake Partnership Elementary School Tutoring Program. She plans to attend medical school and become a doctor.

• Margaret Geoffrion, 22, is a worship arts major from Hot Springs. A graduate of Hot Springs High School, she was a member of the Welcome to Ouachita's World Steering Committee, Women's Chorus, EEE women's social club and sweetheart for Eta Alpha Omega men's social club. Geoffrion served as the worship intern at Lake Valley Community Church in Hot Springs while in college and is now on staff at the church.

• Kyle Jackson, 21, is a Christian studies major from Hot Springs. A graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, Jackson was a member of the Tiger Serve Day Leadership Team and the Refuge worship team. He interned at First Baptist Church in Benton and Hot Springs Baptist Church. Jackson is a worship leader at Fellowship Bible Church in northwest Arkansas.

• Haley Jo Wesson, 22, is a communication sciences and disorders major from Hot Springs. A graduate of Lakeside High School, Wesson worked with Veritas discipleship, Tiger Serve Day, Tiger Tunes and the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She was the class 2015 president for EEE women's social club, president of the Ouachita Student Foundation and president of National Student Speech Language Hearing Association. She received the Tiger Network Scholarship and has been named to the dean's list. Wesson volunteered through international mission trips and as a summer camp counselor at Sky Ranch. She plans to attend Louisiana Tech University in the fall to pursue a master's degree in speech pathology.
