Ava N.H. O'Bryan

Our precious, sweet mother, Ava Nelle Hunt O'Bryan, age 79, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017.

She was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the daughter of Victor Lee Hunt and Rosa Kesterson Hunt. On May 25, 1954, she married Gordon E. O'Bryan Sr. She was a member of Piney Baptist Church and a lifelong devoted church worker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors are her four sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon Jr. and Nancy O'Bryan, of East End, Dan and Melba O'Bryan, of White Hall, Tony and Jeanie O'Bryan, of Hot Springs, and Pat and Shelly O'Bryan, of Sheridan; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her four brothers, John Hunt, of Maryland, Artie Hunt, of Little Rock, David Hunt, of Springdale, and Billy Hunt, of Chula Vista, Calif.; her two sisters, Vicki Foti, of Fayetteville, and Charlene Yarbrough, of Little Rock.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Gordon E. O'Bryan Sr.; and oldest sibling, Jo Ramona Hunt Steele.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Piney Baptist Church with Brother Larry Catcher and Brother Mike Kemper officiating.

Immediate family committal services were held soon after her death in the Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Mother had a wonderful life and was an ideal mother to us boys in every way. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, her flowers, her church and her Lord.
