Water customers on Long Beach Drive, from Central Avenue to Hosta Bay, as well as those on Hosta Bay, may experience interrupted water service today, the city says.
Starting at around 8 a.m. today, crews will start relocating a waterline as part of the Arkansas Department of Transportation's Highway 7 south widening project. The relocation project is expected to be completed by around 1 p.m. today.
After the piping is connected to a new 12-inch main, customers may experience temporarily cloudy water. If this occurs, customers should run cold water at the sink or tub faucet until it runs clear and refrain from washing white or light-colored clothing until the water is clear and should discard discolored ice cubes.
The discolored or cloudy water is safe for consumption and cloudiness will dissipate as the system naturally flushes. For most customers, this condition should clear within the next 24 hours. Call 321-6200 for more information.Local on 10/11/2017
